Wearing The Nylon Tricot High-Cut One-Piece (American Apparel)
#Memories
(Attempting to) model one of @theobsidianway ‘s earliest pieces - I was so shy lol…I definitely look more like a human being now - had to crop my face lol
I remember being so inspired that day though…
I remember my random modelling jobs and castings (i.e Procter and Gamble Always Ultra ad lol, Glo billboard, and a couple runway shows)
I remember meeting up with the owner of a modelling agency that asked me if I wanted to quit school and start modelling in S.A - (I knew my Mothers answer to this so I didn’t even bother lol)..
I remember those random nights working serving jobs at weddings and events on the Island (Civic Centre especially) and having to sleep at @_sassie ‘s house because I’d work until after midnight - I was making 15,000 Naira (about $120) a night at age 15/16.
I remember asking my Mum not to send the driver/car so I could take public transportation (Okada/BRT/Molue - If you’re Nigerian you should know what these are lol) with some really amazing people I made friends with that modelled as well and probably didn’t have all the things my parents (who I live for) could give me.
I remember being excited to be doing something else from what my peers/friends/classmates were doing. Anything normal was (and still is) not for me.
It’s been a “real” journey from then (2009) to now, and so much has changed, but the one thing I know will never change is my passion to strive and succeed.
As long as I’m alive, I have no reason to stop.

But then I reminded myself that most of these suits are trying to win a race, while I’m here for the recreational jog. I’m not necessarily trying to reach a destination, I’m just here for the journey, man.
